Physician opportunities within rural east central Minnesota are available at FirstLight Health System, an established, award-winning facility.  Recent awards include Top Workplace, the Minnesota Hospital Association for patient safety, and  March of Dimes for non-elective births before 39 weeks.

Currently, we have three physician opportunities available: an Emergency Medicine Physician, a Family Medicine Physician (w/ OB and C-section capabilities) and a General Surgeon position.

Emergency Medicine Physician

Physical Location:  Mora

Responsibilities:
• Provide direct patient care for clinical patients for designated specialty
• Function appropriately as part of a care delivery team through efficient use of resources and skills, both own and those of other providers and staff
• Chart in electronic format in accordance with licensure and scope
• Actively participate in multidisciplinary team approach to case management
• Utilize quality improvement tools to develop processes that promote continuous improvement in delivery of patient care, patient outcomes or workflows

Education: MD or DO and BE/BC

Qualification Skills: FP, IM, General Surgeon, or ER physician with a minimum of 1000 hours of ER experience as a physician

Work Schedule: Cover the ER shifts with a rotating schedule that would include weekends and holidays

Family Medicine Physician w/ OB/C-Section Experience

Practice Location: Mora Clinic

Responsibilities:

• Requires OB/C-Section
• Outpatient work in Pine City
• Provide direct medical care within the outpatient clinic
• Work collaboratively with patients to meet and improve their health and well-being
• Deliver evidence based care that supports the Triple Aim of improved health outcomes
• Deliver exceptional patient experience and efficient use of resources is required
• Practice is outpatient with call rotation for phone triage

Education: MD or DO, OB/C-section training

Qualification Skills: BC/BE family Medicine,  OB/C-Section capability required

Work Schedule:  32 patient contact hours per week, plus call

General Surgeon

Practice Location:  Mora

Responsibilities:
• Provide direct patient care for clinical patients for designated specialty
• Function appropriately as part of care delivery team through efficient use of resources and skills, both own and those of other providers and staff
• Chart in electronic format in accordance with licensure and scope
• Actively participate in multidisciplinary team approach to case management
• Utilize quality improvement tools to develop processes that promote continuous improvement in deliver of patient care, patient outcomes or workflows.

Education: MD or DO

Qualification Skills: BC/BE in General Surgery, ability to perform laparoscopic surgery, breast surgery, endoscopies and colonoscopies.

Work Schedule: 32 patient contact hours (includes surgery time)

Established in 1945, FirstLight Health System’s primary market is to those in Kanabec, Pine, Aitkin, Isanti, and Mille Lacs counties. FirstLight Health System is located in Mora, MN in beautiful Kanabec County. Residents enjoy a wealth of leisure, recreation and educational opportunities. FirstLight Health System has undergone several expansions throughout the years. The newest expansion, completed in 2007, produced a new high-tech surgery suite totaling 18,000 square feet.
