Imaging Services

FirstLight Health Systems offers comprehensive and professional imaging services using the most advanced equipment available. Our highly skilled team of technologists and radiologists are available to meet your needs. Imaging services include:

Bone Density (DXA)
This procedure is used to determine the quality of bones as you age.

Computed Tomography (CT) Scans
CT scans take multiple pictures or very thin “slices” though the body very quickly. This allows the radiologist to see bone, tissue or organs in great detail.

Diagnostic Imaging (X-ray)
Conventional x-rays can be performed on all areas of the anatomy and on people of any age. Bone fractures, arthritis and some types of cancer can be diagnosed using this form of imaging.

Digital Mammography
Mammography is performed to screen healthy women for signs of breast cancer. Mammograms are the best way to find breast cancer early. Screening mammography can be performed without an order; however, the name of your primary care provider must be provided while scheduling your exam.

Fluoroscopy
These exams are sometimes explained as “x-rays in motion.” These procedures are often used to evaluate upper or lower GI tract issues, for guidance during joint injections, or putting fractured bones back in place.

Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI /MRA)
This imaging exam does not use radiation but does use a powerful magnetic field to generate images. MRI/MRA exams are useful in imaging the brain, musculoskeletal system, cardiovascular system and cancer.

Nuclear Medicine
During a nuclear medicine exam, small amounts of radioactive materials are injected in a vein, swallowed, or inhaled as a gas. These materials work with a camera to produce detailed pictures of both the structure and function of organs and tissues.

Ultrasound
High-frequency sound waves are used during an ultrasound examination. This exam produces precise images of structures within your body. Ultrasound is useful for looking at abdominal organs, thyroid, heart, and blood vessels, as well as evaluating a fetus.

If you have visited a provider at another facility, we are happy to accommodate your imaging needs at FirstLight. Please note we will need a written order from your provider before scheduling your exam.
