Rehabilitation Services

Rehabilitation Services has tailored  care plans designed to address and treat individuals of all ages who have sustained disabilities, or have impairments or limitations that have impacted their physical function.

Rehabilitation services include Athletic Training for  area schools, Cardiac Rehab, OT, PT, Speech/Language Pathology, Pediatric therapies,  Respiratory care, and sleep studies.

Rehabilitation therapies at FirstLight can help restore and maintain maximum movement and function, increase strength, and decrease pain and help prevent further injury.  Rehabilitation Therapy services includes:

Athletic Training

  • Local support for area high schools at sporting events to assess, treat and manage athlete injuries
  • Concussion Screening/Assessment (ImPACT) testing
  • Safe Sports Schools – a certification that schools have for policies and procedures  keeping athletes safe

Cardiovascular Services

Occupational Therapy

  • Orthopedic – musculoskeletal therapy
  • LSVT Big
  • Neurologic -movement issues for daily living
  • Cognitive
  • Hand Therapy – non-operative care, post-surgical rehabilitation for upper extremities

Respiratory Care (RT)

  • C-PAP / BiPAP – sleep machine setup
  • Pentamidine
  • Pulmonary Rehab- as function declines helps patient meet targeted goals
  • Pulmonary Function Tests (PFT) – that measure lung function

Sleep Clinic

  • Sleep testing, diagnosis and treatment

Speech-Language Pathology (SLP)

  • Cognition – organizational skills, insight, judgement, memory, sequencing
  • Voice – pitch, vocal hygiene, resonance, phonation, respiration, vocal quality
  • Speech – articulation, sound production, dysarthria, speech intelligibility
  • Language – auditory comprehension, expressive language, pragmatic language, social skills, aphasia
  • Fluency – stuttering
  • Swallowing – video fluoroscopic swallow studies, strengthening and coordination of the swallowing mechanism
  • LSVT Loud

Wound Care

  • Management of chronic and acute wounds
