Retirement letter from Dr. Timothy Yeh December 2018

December 21, 2018

Greetings,

As many of you may know, after forty years, I’ve made notice of my retirement from FirstLight Health System with my last day as Monday, December 31, 2018. FirstLight has been able to identify and successfully recruit my successor, Dr. Ronald D. Halvorson.

Dr. Halvorson, originally from Stewartville, Minnesota, attended the University of Minnesota Medical School and is an experienced hematologist-medical oncologist. Until recently he has been practicing at St. Cloud VA Medical Center. On a personal note, someone close to him has also been touched by cancer, giving him a unique perspective to this diagnosis.

Dr. Halvorson will start at FirstLight on Monday, January 7, 2019; and from January 1-January 7, my colleague Brenda Fischer, NP will be in contact with me for any issues or coverage. For those of you who continue care with FirstLight, Kristin Johnson, RN, and Cancer Nurse Navigator will coordinate your appointments while transitioning care to Dr. Halvorson and Brenda Fischer, NP. Kristin Johnson can be reached directly at 320-225-3637.

For those of you who do not need to be seen within the next several months, or do not require follow-up until later in 2019, your chart has been updated to reflect those decisions.

I leave you in capable and caring hands of Dr. Halvorson, whom I have personally worked with and Brenda Fischer, Kristin Johnson and all the rest of the care providers at FirstLight, as I trust them with you and your oncology care needs. I have greatly valued our relationship and thank you for your trust and loyalty, wishing you the best for you and your healthcare needs.

Sincerely,

Timothy S. Yeh, MD-Hematology-Medical Oncology
